The Pannadi are a subcaste of the Devendrakula community. Traditionally they were farmers.
The Pannadi people live in Odisha, Tamil Nadu and Kerala states.
Though some are still farmers, many have moved on to be employed by the Indian government or private businesses.
They have their own community headmen and panchayats to settle their disputes. The headman is a hereditary position, so sons take that position when the father dies.
The Pannadi people practice Hinduism, the religion that describes all the spiritual beliefs in South Asia before the invasions of Muslims or the British. Like other Hindus, the Pannadis worship the gods they believe will provide them with benefits. They do not have a personal relationship with their gods in the same way a Christian or a Jew relates to Yahweh.
The Pannadi people need hearts that are open to the spiritual transformation that only the Holy Spirit can provide. There are many believers in Tamil Nadu and Kerala that can introduce them to the Savior.
Pray for His kingdom to come and His will to be done among the Pannadi people.
Pray for a movement of Pannadi households to study the Bible and accept the blessings of Christ.
Pray for a spiritual hunger that will drive the Pannadi people to the arms of Jesus.
Pray for workers who are filled with the fruit and the power of the Holy Spirit to go to the Pannadi people.
